All fitness levels welcome from new walkers to experienced runners. Move between groups as your fitness improves. If you want to get out and get moving then Fit 4 life is for you. Groups for:

Fat Busters Walking Group:  designed to get you moving and help with your weight loss goal

Weigh-In: Is your new years resolution to lose weight? F4L will host a weigh-in every Monday to help members achieve thier goal for 2012

Bay Run 2012:  Join the dedicated Bay Run training group – follow a 16 week plan and run or walk  the 2012 Bay Run

So What is Fit 4 Life?  

The aim is to encourage everyone aged 16 – 100 years old to get out and take some regular exercise.  

We have people of all fitness levels taking part, from those who want some encouragement to get out and have a walk to experienced runners who use the regular Monday night as an opportunity to train with other runners. 

The walk to run group have made great progress this season, soon they will be in the running group. There will be a range of groups you can join that cater for all levels of fitness. 

We start with 3 basic groups and then split these groups into smaller units to ensure similar fitness levels train together. 



The 3 groups are:

The Walkers:
Suitable for with all. 


Walk to Run:  If you are a regular walker who needs a new challenge this is the group for you. 


Runners: From new runners to seasoned ‘Marathoners’ or those who play a sport already and want to add a new element to your regular training we can give you a  challenge.  


So if you want to get up off the couch, lose weight, improve your fitness and make new friends try Fit 4 Life.

Mentors – with the success of Fit4Life 2010, we need more mentors to help run and encourage the different groups.

Would you like to become a Fit 4 Life Mentor?

Fit 4 Life is a community based initiative run by volunteers and its primary aim is to promote activity and a healthy lifestyle among its members. It is strictly non-competitive, though some groups may want to occasionally organise a competitive event for themselves.

What is involved in Mentoring?

You will be working as part of a team. You need to be available on Monday nights between 7 and 8 PM to help to organise and encourage one of the groups (walkers, walk/joggers or runners – your choice). Expertise or experience in the areas of exercise, diet, nutrition or leadership is desirable but not essential. Enthusiasm is mandatory!

Mentors meet regularly to plan the activity programmes for the groups. The plan for each night is worked out in advance by the mentoring team.
